I am a student at Hamilton College in Upstate New York. Hamilton College is a small, but good, liberal arts college. My main interest is in the humanities, and Hamilton has a good variety of humanities courses. The courses also include an emphasis on critical thinking. The ability to think critically is a very important skill for a person to learn.The subjects that I like include history, philosophy, political science, and government. These subjects are all concerned with concepts and creations that are made by humans. As a result, these subjects also show the imperfect nature of humankind.I always encourage analytical and critical thinking while I am tutoring, including in mathematics. It is an invaluable skill to be able to analyze concepts to consider the why and how, as well as the weakness or strength of any idea.I tutor students in several subjects, including writing, essays, history, math, philosophy, public speaking, government, social studies, and history. I also help students prepare for the SAT.In addition to tutoring, I love to play video games and watch action movies like many people who are my age. I also love jamming on the guitar and indie music. I appreciate jokes, and have a dry sense of humor.
