Education

I hold a Bachelor's degree from the Eastman School of Music in Jazz Saxophone Performance (2012) and a Master's degree from the Manhattan School of Music, also in Jazz Saxophone Performance (2015). Additionally, I spent a semester at the Paris Conservatory in Fall 2011, and attended high school at University of North Carolina School of the Arts. My primary teachers have been Walt Weiskopf, Charles Pillow, Donny McCaslin, Rich Perry, Gary Smulyan, Taimur Sullivan, John Riley, and Jim McNeely.

Experience

In classroom settings, masterclasses, and private lessons, I have been working with students of all ages for nine years. My teaching method is a well-rounded approach that connects the dots between music theory, performance, and the history behind the music. My students receive a customized and personal experience that caters to their specific needs to help them achieve their goals and reach the next level of musicianship. As a performer, I have been featured with Trio Globo, comprised of Grammy award-winning musicians and the Grammy nominated, Gil Evan's Project, and was the saxophonist and clarinetist for Grease the Musical's German your. I am currently performing with For the Last Time, a new off-Broadway jazz musical. I lead my own projects as well -- my soul band was selected to open for the multi-Grammy award-winning, John Legend, and Cowboys and Frenchmen is my jazz quintet with whom I often perform, featuring my original compositions.
