Experience

For the past eight years I have worked as a private academic tutor and coach for a wide range of elementary, middle school, and high school students across Westchester County, New York City, and Long Island. I have watched many of my students achieve incredible results, whether it is raising their GPAs or test scores to revolutionary levels, becoming more organized, goal-oriented, and analytical scholars, or earning important marks of distinction inside and outside the classroom. My past students have earned admission into Yale, Harvard, Princeton, MIT, Cornell, and Penn (to name a few). My approach is highly individualized, creative, and motivating, and I have experience tutoring everything from the verbal side of the SAT I/II, GRE, and GMAT, to a wide range of subjects across the humanities, including but not limited to AP English Language and Literature, French, U.S. or European History, and Psychology. My lessons often focus on honing analytical reading strategies, thesis writing, organizing and structuring A+ quality papers (essays, research papers, creative pieces), improving grammar, building vocabulary, and optimizing study skills and test taking strategies. I have also developed an expertise in helping students write exceptional personal essays for the Common App. I focus on clarifying narrative voice, weaving vivid imagery, and refining the essay's story arc so that students are able to capture their life experiences in an emotionally riveting way.

Hobbies

I am currently at work on a novel based on my experience running cross country at Yale, and when I am not writing or tutoring, I enjoy cooking, hiking, and running in Rockefeller, Central, and Prospect Parks. I have completed two marathons and hope to run another one next fall.
