Experience
I love science and medicine and tutoring in these subjects. When instructing students, I promote dedication and patience, as well as effective study strategies and sheer persistence. I'm familiar with these and open to sharing them with tutees. I don't think learning stops outside of school. Continued learning takes many forms, including scientific research in which asking many questions is important. I encourage students to not only memorize facts but also ask many questions until they feel they can understand what is taught to them. Whether they're working through problems or concepts, or how to take tests, I ensure my students inquire until they understand why they're asked to solve a problem this way or that. They must also know how a concept fits into the big picture. This boosts confidence and impacts long-term success in school.Scientific research is a passion of mine. I look into topics such as the causes of obesity, kneecap pain, or why mosquitoes tend to be attracted to certain people and not others. I'm a Columbia University graduate, where I earned a B.A. in Neuroscience and Behavior and completed the premedical track as well. My interests include running, hiking, soccer, lacrosse, and exploring NYC.
