ExperienceMy approach to tutoring math is to show students that it is just another type of language. Since almost every child can speak their native language with ease, math should be taught in such a way that every student is eventually able to master the language of math. I was an MBA student at CUNY, and earned a Ph.D. at Cornell University. In terms of teaching experience, I have taught Operations Management courses at Baruch College and Cornell Graduate School. I have also worked as an engineer in my home country of Italy. Today, I enjoy teaching middle school, high school, and college-level students concepts in mathematics, statistics, and management. I especially enjoy the prospect of teaching students who want to progress past the math concepts they are currently being taught in their school classes. Another one of my specialties is helping students prepare for various tests and standardized examinations. One of the easiest ways to grasp algebra is when you relate it to language, and see how it exhibits certain rules, just like written language. Once I help my students to understand this simple concept, deep comprehension immediately follows. Outside of school-related activities, I like to kayak and go hiking.
