Experience
Hello. My name is Peter. I am a native German speaker. I am a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Madison with a doctorate degree. I earned a series of certifications from Oxford Seminars for Teaching English as a Foreign Language, Test of English as a Foreign Language, and Teaching English as a Second Language. Also, the John Jay College of Criminal Justice's English Department awarded me certification in Writing Across the Curriculum. I have taught German at John Jay and at Queensborough Community College. At both NYIT and Fordham, I have served as an Adjunct, and at Borough of Manhattan Community College and LaGuardia Community College, I was an ESL tutor. My tutoring has ranged from elementary children to college students to adults. I can tutor German, of course, including through German 4 and AP German Language and Culture. I also can help with English as Second Language and English Language Learners, Reading, Writing, Literature, and English. My perspective is that if you are a student, the one individual you can ask about anything is your teacher. My approach is based on exhibiting patience. I live in Forest Hills, New York. I enjoy going to the movies, practicing photography, and reading a good piece of Literature.
