Experience

I have worked as a tutor for five years. I've enjoyed working with students of varying ages in many different subjects. I am especially fond of tutoring students in Writing, English, and Math. I have a gift for helping students increase their confidence as they prepare for standardized exams. It is my experience that learning isn't about simply knowing the answer, it is better to know how to arrive at that answer. I am a third-year student in a specialized program at the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education. The program is an accelerated Bachelor of Science/M.D. program at CUNY City College. After my fifth year, I will transfer to a medical school in the Northeast.I live in New York City and tutor the subjects of Math (Algebra, Geometry, Elementary Math, Middle School Math, Pre-Algebra, and Pre-Calculus), English (1st-12th grade Reading, Writing, Essay Editing, Phonics, Grammar and Mechanics, and College Essays), Science, and Test Prep (PSAT, SAT, SSAT, ACT, and ISEE). Outside of tutoring and my studies, I enjoy exploring NYC, reading, and research.
