Private tutor in New York, NY
Brown University - BA, Anthropology and Biochemistry
I am a current college student majoring in Anthropology and Biochemistry at Brown University. Along with focusing on my classes, I am both a teaching assistant in Human Evolution and Genetics classes, and I hold two student adviser positions. I also tutor immigrant children in French, as I learned advanced French skills when studying in France during high school. When teaching and tutoring, I believe that learning is more than just knowing the right answers to questions; I strive to help my students understand the process and concepts that lead to the answer. This helps them more in their courses when our sessions together are done. I am also committed to being a tutor that is not only patient, but also encouraging and enthusiastic, and I love to bring some fun and humor into my lessons. I have participated in comedic theatre, so this experience helps me bring humor into any situation. Along with helping teach academics, I also teach music, and I currently conduct private music lessons in violin, voice, and music theory. In the past, I taught a high school seminar course on personal and community health. During my free time, I still love the theater, and I also enjoy music, dance, and writing.
