Education
I received a BA in Africana Studies and Sociology at Bowdoin College, a small liberal arts college in Brunswick, Maine. I received this degree in May 2013. I graduated with a 3.4 GPA. I am currently pursuing a M. Ed in School Counseling at Brooklyn College. I expect to receive my Master's degree in May 2017. I currently have a 3.93 GPA.
Experience
Currently, I am a Kindergarten Assistant Teacher at a public charter school in Harlem. I do small group and individual instruction while the lead teacher does whole class instruction. I also have a stronger grasp on reading and comprehension. While being in the classroom, I have noticed that students lose much educational ground during the summer. Through tutoring, I believe that students will be able to maintain and build on their reading, comprehension, and math skills. This summer, I will be tutoring one of my students who will be moving on to 1st grade. I will be helping him work on his reading and math skills so that he can be prepared for 1st grade.
