Experience

Currently employed by the Department of Education. I teach Social Studies in a urban High School in Brooklyn New York. I have three-year teaching experience in a variety of courses, such as Advanced Placement World History, U.S. History & Government, Global History & Geography, and Government. I teach a very diverse population ranging from students with IEP’s, special needs, gifted and talented to general education. I am extremely knowledgeable of the various curricula, content, AP World History exam format, and NYS Regents exams format. Over the past three years, I have tutored students during weekday hours and weekend hours to help prepare for the Advanced Placement World History exam, Global History & Geography Regents exam, and the U.S. History Regents exam. I have also proctored the SAT’s, Common Core State exams, and NYS Regents exams, in addition to grading the Global History & Geography Regents and U.S. History Regents exam. I believe that all students have the ability to learn though not all the same way. Each child is unique and it is essential to teach to the various learning styles of our students. Given my educational qualifications and personal teaching experience, I truly believe I posses the qualities to help students succeed in the given areas. I can also help students in organization, note-taking, inquiry, and test taking strategies to help them succeed in any subject area. Fluent In Spanish, English, Greek and Albanian!
