Experience
I am currently employed as a private teacher/tutor for students with special needs. I have tutored since I was an undergraduate, and continue to do so today. I work with students ranging from 3 to 19 years old. Prior to becoming a full-time private teacher/tutor, I taught 10th and 11th grade English in the public school system. As a teacher, I focused my classes on student inquiry, and writing skills. I am a very good writing teacher, and I have a talent for helping to locate and develop the individual student voice. I scored in the 95th percentile on SAT and ACT, and the 97th percentile on the GRE. I can tutor almost all standardized tests, including the tests administered to pre-K students. I have done private tutoring for the Stanford-Binet, ISEE, and various other entry level examinations. I have a firm grasp on all subjects into 10th grade, but my mathematics knowledge stops there, however I believe that is where my reading and writing talent kicks in. I am also a highly qualified and capable writing tutor at the collegiate level, something that I did while working on my both my undergraduate and graduate degrees. I enjoy tutoring because it allows me to work with students on an individual basis, which in turn engenders an increased level of focus; both the student and I can attack their work without needing to address other concerns. I love working to find academic trouble spots, and then subsequently, improving those area to encourage student performance as a whole.

Hobbies
My hobbies are sports, reading, writing, and teaching. I am pretty limited in my interests, but this allows me to pursue each one with passion. I truly love the things I do, and I am not the kind of person to participate in something I merely enjoy or tolerate.
