Experience
Since 2009, I have provided general mathematics, science, and even some economics tutoring services to students of all ages. Many people tell me they really understand concepts after coming to me because of the way I teach... I'm extremely student-friendly and know what it's like to work hard as a student - I am one! I rely heavily on metaphors, funny anecdotes/stories, and ridiculous pictures/diagrams to get my point across - many have told me that they could see me working as a successful teacher some day. Like I said, I know all too well what's it's like to be a student... I've taken seven Advanced Placement exams in high school to prepare me for tutoring students, including AP Literature and Composition, World History, Calculus AB, Physics C - Mechanics, Microeconomics, Chemistry, and US History - all of which I scored a 4 or better on. Currently, I'm a tutor at Stony Brook University teaching all levels of calculus (up to Calculus IV) as well as some general physical science courses such as astronomy, physics, and chemistry. In addition to math and science, I write poetry on the side and would be willing to help with or talk about any basic writing-related questions that students might have. I am comfortable editing other people's work, though this subject isn't really my specialty.
