I have mastered the SAT and I'm here to pass test taking and preparation strategy to students. I wish I had this knowledge when I was in high school! The SAT is not an aptitude test! It can be outsmarted through practice and study. Most tutors just go over information and review practice problems -- this is not enough! I provide students with tricks and strategies to master concepts, move more quickly through the test, guess correct when they're unsure, and increase their score. I begin with an assessment to gauge exactly where each student is and then devise a specific study plan for them over the course of 5 - 6 weeks. I monitor their progress so that they can manage their time and material easily and be well prepared on test day. The week of the exam, they will be able to comfortably discuss concepts and remember details. In my 2 hour sessions, I will make sure my students leave with a second nature memory and understanding of SAT concepts and approaches to finishing the test accurately and efficiently. After assessing a student's learning and communication style, I develop a customized system of studying and quizzing that is tailored to their personality and needs. While I absolutely believe in classic principles like repetition and practice, I am also an advocate for innovation. I like to use open conversation, visual aides, creative note taking, and even physical movement when applicable. I also love to utilize technology and digital platforms so that students are engaged and can study effectively even when they are not with me in person. I love teaching! I am very hands on. The SAT is a tool for colleges to filter through students and I want my students to have as many options as possible when applying to college. I want them to knock the SAT out of the park so that they can get into the college of their choice. I provide study guides, study techniques, practice tests, and secrets for remembering tricky rules and for identifying when questions are trying to trick you. I also focus a lot on confidence building and mental preparation, because where we are mentally makes up a huge part of how well we score on the SAT. I know how stressful being a high school Senior is! I also know how boring and unimportant learning the SAT seems. I promise to change this. I am an enthusiastic person and I love young people. My sessions are positive, high-energy and fun. I am preparing seniors to conquer their SAT exams once and for all, so that they can go on with their year knowing that they gave the SAT their best shot.
