I am a graduate student at Columbia University, studying Chinese History. Before that I received an MA in Anthropology at Cambridge (2006), and a BA in Anthropology at Carnegie Mellon (2005).
Experience
I've been a frequent tutor for Columbia University's visiting scholars and students who want to improve their English speaking, writing, and listening skills. While I have worked with a number of individuals from across Asia, my specialty is working with native Chinese speakers, since I have studied Chinese myself for many years. I understand the obstacles in the English language that are uniquely challenging to Chinese speakers. I find it really rewarding to help people achieve their language goals, since I too have struggled to learn a foreign language.
