Tutor/Mentor at the University of Washington 2013-2014 I have extensive experience assisting students with their writing assignments to excel not only in the task at hand but drastically improve their comprehension of the subject matter as well. I am a fully employed professional, but I find that my work as a tutor/mentor is an essential part of my holistic life that I intent to maintain. I am en experienced instructor at the college level, I tutor writing at the college and high school levels and I train newly recruited writing tutors to be effective academic professionals. I believe in very high achievement potential for students. my style is non-directive and aimed at fostering independent learners. I am a performer! Not officially, but as an instructor, I rely on my theater background often to be an engaging tutor. I have lived abroad in Latin America and Europe four distinct times. I believe that learning is a process! I loved honing and reflecting on mine as an undergraduate, and I continued that work with academic support programs as a recent graduate. I am about to make the big move from Seattle to New York City and I do not wish to be without tutoring- it is the most fulfilling work I have encountered.
