University of Wisconsin-Madison - BA, Spanish - International Relations , University of Kansas - Ph.D., Latin American Studies
My teaching career has taken me on an incredible journey that has spanned the globe and provided me with over thirteen years of experience educating a wide range of students in many different subjects. I have studied at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Kansas, and the years I spent pursuing my own academics not only helps me put myself in the shoes of my students, but it has also equipped me with a wealth of knowledge and skills that enable me to teach effectively. I have taught in a number of different capacities throughout the years. I spent eight years teaching at graduate schools through Kansas University and at Duke University. Additionally, I spent five years teaching at Grinnell College, Dickinson College, and the University of Iowa. One of my fondest memories of my educational journey was having the opportunity and privilege to spend two years living in Spain while pursuing my bachelor's degrees, as well as spending one year studying with a Fulbright Fellowship in the beautiful country of Argentina. These experiences have enabled me to become proficient at distinguishing between the Latin American variety of Spanish dialects and Peninsular dialects, and I enjoy tutoring students in all levels and dialects of the Spanish language.
