Experience
I am a graduate of Hollins University, where I earned my B.A. in Political Science. During this time, I was able to study abroad in London and France. I was able to find a learning environment that was positive and allowed me to thrive, which served as a turning point to shift my career goals to education. After graduation, I received my M.A. in Education at Pepperdine. In addition, I received my CA teaching credentials in English, Multiple Subject for Elementary, and Social Science. I have experience with a diverse range of students because I have worked as a middle school English and History teacher, and tutored students in fifth through twelfth grade. I am passionate in providing a personalized education experience that I feel students deserve and need. I teach English, History, Study Skills, and Writing. I perform my best work with students who are struggling to learn and need help building the necessary skills to become a lifelong learner. I believe that all students are capable of learning. Currently, I oversee curricula development for a national group of secondary schools. I am also working towards a Doctorate of Education in Learning Technologies from Pepperdine. Outside of my work and studies, I enjoy exploring my city, spending time with friends, traveling, and watching theatre productions.
