My focus is on tutoring test preparation and academic writing skills. Since graduating from Yale University with a bachelor's degree in Global Affairs and prior to beginning my studies in Law, I have taught in the writing center of a university in Singapore and tutored both one-on-one and online in my areas of focus.With writing students, I work to help them build logical arguments that are well-organized and convincing. This involves teaching them to select the right evidence and teaching them patterns that work. Teaching patterns is also helpful for students getting ready for standardized testing - seeing those patterns gives them confidence in their ability to achieve the scores they need. Whether we're working on the SAT or the LSAT, I can show my students how to break down complex problems into easily solvable parts.While there are common techniques that can help everyone, I don't utilize a one-size-fits-all approach. Each student is unique and therefore requires a unique methodology. By getting to know my students and how they learn, I can understand how best to tutor them.When I'm not tutoring, I'm enjoying my hobbies, whether it be looking for new techniques in the kitchen, reading, or planning new adventures.
