Private tutor in New York, NY
Education
Education Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri- BFA 18 credits toward Masters in early Childhood Education
Experience
Experience/Qualifications I have worked as a Substitute Teacher in NYC public elementary schools since 2007 with both General Ed. and Special Ed students. I have also taught English Language Learners. I love working with children, they are the most original people in the world. I am deeply interested in helping them and they trust me. My greatest assets as a teacher are patience and empathy. I have had success in helping children understand "oneness" and basic math concepts. Because of my strong interpersonal skills I am able to quickly grasp what is not understood and patiently guide my students toward that "lightbulb moment". When they are struggling with reading and writing I know how to unlock the process. I have 18 credits toward a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education. I am an artist and have taught art classes to all ages, from children to adults. I was a textile and product designer for 15 years and ran a textile printing workshop as an Artist In Residence in a local elementary school.
