Columbia - BS, Applied Math

I approach tutoring with the philosophy that all students can learn -- in fact, excel at -- any subject with a sufficient amount of time and support from the right tutor. To me, a successful tutor is one who knows the material, respects the student, and is determined to help his student achieve success. To that end, I am good at explaining difficult material in different ways until I find the one that fits the way my student learns. I am patient and very willing to repeat explanations and answers to questions as many times as needed. Students must learn not only how to solve a problem but also how to apply what they learn to problems they may encounter later on. I make sure they know these techniques and help them work through however many problems it takes for them to have enough confidence to solve problems themselves.I tutor students in Algebra, Calculus, Differential Equations, Geometry, Statistics, Trigonometry, Competition Math, Multivariable Calculus, Finite Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, and Hebrew. I can also tutor related AP- and IB-level courses, and I am able to help students prepare for the SAT, too.
