Experience
I earned a DDS degree from New York University College of Dentistry after a preceding and indirect path. I studied music originally, followed by liberal arts, and finally health science. Seeing my nontraditional route through academia as a highly valuable learning tool has helped me become an effective tutor. I am able to teach varied subjects as well as offer critical life lessons. Up to the recent past I taught fifth and sixth graders at a private after-school program in Queens. During this time I learned valuable lessons of my own and transferring that to the classroom has been a strong asset to being a mentor. I strive to maintain a high level of motivation in my students and believe that is one of the most useful and productive aspects of guiding students to success. Seeing my students gain such long strides in their work always gives me great pride, and I ensure each of them has that opportunity by giving them all of the personal attention they need. In every subject, I believe the most critical forerunner to teaching is to establish a whole and detailed comprehension of foundational concepts in order for students to build on and gain the knowledge needed to meet all of their goals.
