My tutoring experience includes instruction in writing, English, ESL/ELL, essay editing, art, and public speaking. I've tutored both ESL and native English speaking students, from 18-22 years old. Using a collaborative tutoring style, I try to see what way a student wants to learn and then introduce to them new methods. "Learning and progress are team efforts" is the motto I use when tutoring. I always look forward to the progress we can make.Community development work has also qualified me to be an effective tutor. I once taught at-risk children how to read with tools such as phonics, storytelling, art, and music, which provide a context to kids still developing their linguistic skills. Formal and informal presentations were part of my community development work; I had to report on the efficacy of the efforts I was making. I went to film school in Philadelphia and earned a BFA in Film Production, while minoring in Creative Writing. Currently I work in media in New York City and focus on copy writing and cinematic arts.Outside of work and tutoring, I enjoy the culinary arts, history, theatre, foreign languages, softball, and football. Screenwriting, film making, and film editing are my greatest passions.
