Experience
As a Writing Counsellor at Columbia University, I helped students achieve success with every aspect of the writing process, from tasks as diverse as writing personal statements to research papers. Much of this work focused on foreign students who are working in English as their second or third language. For 13 years I've developed a professional reputation with nationally published magazines and web platforms, and currently work as an editor and travel writer for TripAdvisor and Oyster.com in New York City. I've also spent time tutoring refugees in English writing, conversation, and comprehension. I'm most proud with I can see the spark in a student's eye—the one where suddenly, what they are trying to say and what they are actually saying has snapped into place.

Hobbies
I am an avid traveler and teller of stories. My essays and short fiction have been published in a variety of online literary journals. I also work as a hotel reviewer and travel writer for Oyster.com which, even though it's my job, is something that is personally fulfilling. I'm quite passionate about running, and have finished the New York Marathon twice. I love dogs and my bike, and spend my weekends at the beach, MoMA PS1, or in coffee shops writing.
