Experience
I earned my BA in Psychology at George Washington University. After that, I came to New York with the Teach for AmeriCorps, while attending graduate school and earning my MAT in Childhood Education. Also during this time, I was part of the teaching team at a charter school called the Bronx Charter School for Excellence. This school was for high achieving students, and the fourth grade students I taught there for two years were among the highest scoring students in the state, and the school was the top charter school in the city. When I was finished teaching for AmeriCorps, I stayed in the same community and continued teaching. I have taught a variety of different students from numerous backgrounds. I find satisfaction in discovering new teaching methods to reach each of my students, whether they're in the regular education setting or special ed. My belief that each child has the ability to achieve success in their education inspires me to serve all of my students. In a one-on-one setting, I will be able to individualize students' lesson plans even more specifically to their needs. I can tutor all elementary subjects, and help students with standardized test preparation. Outside of teaching, I like soccer, hiking, running, and watching sports.
