My favorite subjects have been science, medical, and foreign languages; I shined in these subjects when I was attending school. I have been tutoring for so long, I can't remember when I started. During high school I tutored science and biology. During my time at Brandeis University, I expanded my breadth of subjects I am able to tutor in French, chemistry, anatomy, and physiology. I am planning to become a pediatrician, because I love to help children who need it; especially the underprivileged children, like how I grew up. I have an very involved way of tutoring. I determine what areas students are lacking in, help them improve in these areas, and enhance their skills even more in the subjects they are already comfortable with. I am empathetic in my tutoring, by trying my best to get in my student's shoes; therefore, I can most effectively find in what area the issues are and then figuring out how we can deal with them. I had an epiphany about learning in general from my tutoring experience: students sometimes just need to look at problems they are struggling with from a new perspective. Students learn differently, so trying to teach them using the same format, like a cookie cutter, is counterproductive.
