I enjoy tutoring many subjects, but I am most passionate about writing, public speaking, and reading. Learning can be fun! As a tutor, I like to show my students the relevancy of the material they are learning. Knowledge is much more effective when students can see how it is practical and applicable to their daily lives. Self-learning is very important, so I work hard to help my students find answers on their own, rather than simply providing the answer. I want to instill in them the skill of independent learning, which will benefit them for the rest of their lives. I have a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications with a focus in Journalism from Virginia Commonwealth University. I have worked as a math and English tutor, have toured nationally as a stand-up comedian, and have served as a writer and editor for many start-up magazines. Currently, I live in New York, New York. I tutor the subjects of Arithmetic, Elementary Math, Middle School Math, Algebra 1, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Physics, English, Phonics, Reading, Writing, Grammar and Mechanics, College Essays, Literature, test prep for the SAT, PSAT, SSAT, and ISEE, Religious Studies, Special Education, and Study Skills and Organization.In my free time, I enjoy superhero movies, music, reading, and comedy.
