Private tutor in New York, NY
Pennsylvania State University-Main Campus - BS, Life Science
As a tutor, I believe that it is important to guide students in learning new material. I do this by breaking down large concepts into smaller pieces and connecting the pieces to what the student already knows. Then I build upon the knowledge until they develop a thorough comprehension of the subject. This works by reinforcing their old knowledge and providing confidence in their new knowledge.I earned my bachelor's degree in Life Science at the Pennsylvania State University. During my studies, I worked as a science tutor and a teaching assistant in physiology. The subjects that I have the most passion for are anatomy and physiology because of their direct relation to human life and the role they play in medicine. I also was an executive board member for the pre-medical honor society and heavily involved in THON (Penn State dance marathon that raises money for pediatric cancer).I have since relocated to NYC, where I work in an urgent care center assisting physicians and patients. I am working on my applications for med school and continue to take advantage of any opportunity to continue learning and assisting other with their education.I enjoy horseback riding, reading, running, traveling, and yoga. I also like to experiment in the kitchen, catch up with friends over coffee, and to cheer on Penn State.
