Private tutor in New York, NY
University of Rochester - BA, Japanese, East Asian Studies
I like tutoring a wide variety of subjects and yet I am most passionate about foreign languages (Japanese and Mandarin), History, Literature, and English. It is the most rewarding to develop in my students a love of learning. I have experience as a tutor and teacher for a wide variety of students in different settings. I have helped high school students with college applications and essay writing. In New York City I taught Social Studies and English to K-9th graders. I attended the University of Rochester. I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Japanese Language & Culture and History with a focus on East Asia. Now I am spending lots of time researching as I draft an anthropological research proposal.Currently, I live in NYC and tutor many subjects including Math (Elementary Math, Middle School Math, and Algebra 1 and 2), foreign languages (Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese, and Japanese), and English (Grammar and Mechanics, Reading, Writing, Essay Editing, and Literature). I also tutor Test Prep (ACT, SAT, ISEE, and HSPT) as well as Study Skills and Organization, AP courses, Social Studies, and History. In my free time, I love learning languages, researching, dance, photography, ice skating, and reading novels.
