Experience
I am a graduate of SUNY Cortland, where I earned my bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences and a minor in Chemistry. I continued my education at Long Island University CW Post, where I earned my master's degree in Adolescent Education for Biology. Since graduation, I have been teaching middle school science, and will soon be moving on to teach science to high schoolers. I'm able to tutor both middle and high schoolers in a variety of topics, like biology, chemistry, earth and life sciences, reading, English, and pre-algebra. I can also help students in IB Biology HL and SL. I enjoy getting to know each of my students' preferred learning styles, academic challenges, and scholarly strengths. As a tutor, I encourage my students to ask a lot of questions. I also enjoy bringing a variety of different teaching aids to each session to encourage students to engage with the subject. I want my students to gain a true understanding of concepts, not just memorize the facts. By developing a thorough understanding, students can master formerly challenging topics. When I'm not tutoring, I enjoy sports and music. I also like to read, spend time with friends and family, and explore the city.
