EducationQueens College - BA, BA, Mathematics, Computer Science
ExperienceAt Queens College, I received two bachelor's degrees in Pure Mathematics and Computer Science. I am currently pursuing my M.A. in Pure Mathematics. Since undergrad, I've worked as a private tutor for middle and high school students in the areas of Physics, Mathematics (including Geometry, Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, and Arithmetic), Chemistry, and English. I've also helped college students prepare for exams and finals in Statistics and Calculus. I most enjoy tutoring math because there is such intricacy and connection to be explored in subjects like Geometry and Arithmetic. As a teacher, I encourage students to examine and explore the complex landscape of mathematics. I find that I can make sense of information more when I understand the intricate foundations that make up our surroundings. This truth grounds my teaching practice. If a student is having trouble with a complex concept, I simplify it and break it down, so the student can reach conclusions by taking it in one piece at a time. In my free time, I love to play and listen to music, especially jazz and blues. I have a number of guitars that I play, including an Epiphone SG-250 and an AE-128. I enjoy non-fiction, and books on the history of physics and math. I have a collection of books on these subjects, including Euler's Gem and Euclid's Elements.
