Experience

I have received a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Oklahoma and Bard College, respectively. My passions in life are film, literature, history, and writing. I currently work as an English teacher and a coach. I work with and tutor students from all types of backgrounds and different age groups, from college students all the way down to elementary school students. I very much enjoy assisting and helping people get past various obstacles in their lives that can hold them back from achieving academic success. In addition to this, I am a master test taker and, in 2005, I helped the NYC Department of Education develop a curriculum that helps students with their strategies while taking tests. A major part of my tutoring style is to make sure I establish a great base of different techniques that can help the students with taking their tests and perform up to their potential. In addition to writing and teaching, I have a number of other interests and hobbies, such as the outdoors, sports, watching films. I am also a fan of a of variety of music styles, from jazz to hip-hop.
