I attended Pomona College, where I earned a bachelor's degree in media studies with a minor in French. Presently I'm employed by Pomona College in admissions, so I have the inside scoop on what colleges are looking for. I can help you with particular academic subjects you're finding difficult to master, give you tips and tricks on preparing for standardized tests, or help you craft your college admission essays, practice your interviews, and format your resume. I even have experience with teaching interviewing skills, resume prep, leadership skills, theater, and dance from my time working as a National Student Leadership Team Advisor. My tutoring philosophy is that each student has different needs and goals and learns in a unique way. I try to customize my tutoring style to each individual student. My specialties are basic math, arithmetic, algebra, geometry, writing, literature, grammar, history, world religions, visual arts, French, and many other humanities.Outside of academics and work, my passions are food, movies, cooking, yoga, homemade beauty products, and music. I'm a fan of do-it-yourself projects, farming and gardening, and natural living. I'm willing to conduct tutoring sessions at the home of my student, or in a cafe or library--wherever my student is most comfortable.
