I am an experienced tutor in a vast array of topics, including the Humanities, World Language, AP Calculus, and Physics. My experience in, knowledge of, and passion for teaching and learning are infused in everything I do. I enjoy people and inspire the Millennial Generation in achieving the skills for success in life and school through my patience, positivity, intellect, energy, and curiosity. Through my studies and growing knowledge of the best practices and ideas of educational scholars (McTighe, Wiggins, Dewey), the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, and sociologists and psychologists of education (Gardner, Vygotsky, Bronfenbrenner, etc.), I have developed my own educational principles. These include: praising what has been accomplished well, pointing to areas for improvement, celebrating people for who they are, being flexible, never giving up, enjoying the process, knowing the audience, instructional scaffolding tailored to meet the needs of the student, observing and listening, and communicating honestly and clearly. I was the valedictorian of my high school class. At Middlebury College in Vermont, I earned the honors of summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. My Bachelor of Arts is in Spanish, with minors in Education Studies and French. I am currently a professor in Education Studies at Middlebury College.
