Experience
Currently, I am studying for my PhD in Sociocultural Anthropology at Columbia University, having graduated from McGill University magna cum laude with bachelor's degrees in World Religions and Sociology and a master's degree in Religious Studies. I also earned Master of Arts and Master of Philosophy degrees in Anthropology here at Columbia and have had the opportunity to do ethnographic and archival research in India, with support from the Fulbright Foundation and other foundations. Along the way, I have become an excellent academic writer and have enjoyed helping students of all ages become better writers and readers and develop their critical thinking skills.I have been involved in lecturing, curriculum design, and grading as a teaching assistant for university students, and I have also done individual tutoring for this age group. I also tutored young people in the 7- to 14-year-old range in English when I was in India and tutored adults in Tamil language in New York City. The subjects I tutor include History, the Social Sciences, and English Writing and Literature at all levels, but I am not limited to those subjects. I can also help students in their application process to gain admittance to the very best schools, having succeeded in doing that myself.
