Experience
I graduated from DePaul University in Chicago, where I earned a master's degree in English. My graduate concentration was in rhetoric. While I was at DePaul, and since I left, I have focused on teaching language art classes and building curriculum. I like to teach grammar, literature, and critical reading. On a recent trip to the U.K., I set a goal of learning more about writing, English, and literature. I came away from this experience with a much broader and deeper appreciation for the disciplines in my area of expertise. I think an education provides exceptional benefits, and this view sets the tone for when I tutor or teach. My tutoring subject areas include AP English Literature, Religious Studies, AP U.S. Government and Politics, Study Skills and Organization, and Social Studies. I also can tutor AP English Language and Composition, Reading, Writing, Essay Editing, Grammar and Mechanics, American History, World History, and Government. I live in New York City. Outside of writing and teaching, I like to sail, do Pilates, and spend time in the kitchen cooking organic and healthy food. I am excited about the opportunity to meet new clients and start working with individual students.
