I have a knack for simplifying complex ideas, whether they be scientific or literary in nature. I graduated from the University of Michigan, earning degrees in biochemistry and English. I received very high honors and many prestigious awards for my honors English thesis. I enjoyed tackling challenging science coursework in college, including biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, genetics, biochemistry, and physical chemistry. I have an all 'A' track record in my classes. I also earned high marks on standardized tests. I attribute my academic success to my test-taking strategies. As a tutor, I share these skills with students prepping for standardized tests. My work experience as a tutor is vast, as I have worked in diverse learning environments. As an independent tutor, I work with subjects ranging from chemistry to literary analysis. As a peer-trained tutor, I worked with students within the Sweetland Learning Center. In the Science Learning Center, I led a study group. Facilitating a group in this format taught me a lot! My teaching style is engaging and conversational. I center my lessons around the students' interests and concerns. I currently live in Manhattan and I look forward to expanding my work as a tutor. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and writing fantasy and science fiction, sketching, technology, fashion, and trying new food.
