Experience
I attended St. John's University in Queens, where I studied English, and later worked toward a master's degree in Library Science. I am currently in the process of earning my post-graduate certificate in Education. I have tutored students from middle school through college levels. I am currently a librarian at a Queens high school, where I work alongside teachers helping students with their academic and research writing. I also work individually with students to encourage a love of reading. I frequently work with students who are struggling with reading, helping them to build their confidence and turn reading into a daily facet of their lives. Being a librarian means I have the opportunity to help a student find the perfect book to ignite their interest in reading. I love my work.I have tutored nearly every subject over the years, but my personal passions are reading and writing. As such, I can help students with literature, essay writing and editing, grammar/mechanics, and phonics, as well as other aspects of the English language. I have plenty of experience helping students with academic and research papers, but equally enjoy working with college essays and creative writing pieces. I truly love helping students with subjects I know will benefit them throughout their lives. While originally from rural New England, I now live in New York, and wouldn't dream of living anywhere else. In my spare time, I love to visit shows and museums, and just enjoy the city. I like cooking, travel, and yoga, and of course, I love to read.
