Private tutor in New York, NY
Cornell University - BA, 1) Molecular & Cell Biology; 2) Classics. (*Double-Major) , Columbia University - MPH, Environmental & Molecular Epidemiology
I am a tutor with an extensive background in the field of science and health. I have a bachelor's degree in Biology, two master's degrees (Master of Science and Master of Public Health), and have just recently graduated from medical school. I plan to continue my education with a residency in surgery, but I am currently taking some time off to work on research projects with local hospitals. In addition to a strong academic background, I also have several years of experience teaching others. I had opportunities in both graduate school and medical school to work as a teaching assistant. During medical school, part of my work as a TA involved hosting review sessions and making myself available as needed. I found that I really love to teach, and I plan to make it part of my career as a surgeon. I believe that if students have fun learning, they are much more engaged and retain the information better. With that in mind, I strive to make things interesting and fresh. In addition to my science and medical degrees, I also have a bachelor's degree in Classics (Classical Civilization), so I also feel confident tutoring in the subjects of literature, writing, and reading, among others. When I'm not working or tutoring, I enjoy playing tennis, snowboarding, and attending museums and art galleries.
