Experience
I attended CUNY College of Staten Island, earning a degree in history. I also studied English literature, sociology, and secondary education, and I took many courses in history. I've tutored and taught in the classroom for students at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels. I've also been a TA for middle school and high school students and have tutored students of all ages as part of an after school program. Every student is unique, so as a tutor I have to modify my approach to match their needs and learning style. Also I am patient with students, because some students need more time to learn specific concepts, and students need to be able to work at their own pace. Some of the students I work with were considered to be difficult or hard to handle, but I connect with students and I'm friendly, and those students and I had a great experience working together. I believe all students should be given the opportunity to identify their strengths and achieve success. I will always believe in my students, and I will monitor their progress and make adjustments as I guide them along the way to realizing their full academic potential.
