Experience
Recently separated from the US Army where I served three years. At 16, I had a congressional nomination to a Military Academy upon graduating from the High School for International Business and Finance as a junior. I requested sophomore year to be placed into AP US History, I missed a semester of the class but still received a 4 out 5 on the exam. SAT score was a 1950. While in the Army, I continued to help friends back home and fellow soldiers write papers. Over the course of 3 years, I helped write or wrote entirely 100+ papers, not a single paper received a grade lower than a 90. These papers were not always written in an environment one would expect to write an essay but I got it done. Several people I helped were several of my soldiers that I was directly responsible for. I wanted to help them because we were in the Infantry, and I wanted to prove to them that we should not be held back by the title "grunt" and just because we are Infantrymen, there is no reason why we cant be intellectuals. The same goes for my civilian friends I helped and continue to help, I showed them being a product of your environment is an excuse and anything is possible and because of that, several of my civilian friends took the chance to apply to SUNY Maritime and are currently on their way to become officers in the Navy and battling among each other for top spot in their class.

Hobbies
I enjoy reading and writing poetry above anything else. I took to writing poetry as a challenge years ago from my honors English teacher in high school. Can I get my message across, if not a stronger message in a poem no more than a page long that I can in a five page paper? the following morning I handed in poem that far exceeded what he or the principal had expected and to this day I continue to write. I refuse to stop learning and studying, the world is constantly changing so why should anyone stop learning. Over and above all, for my interest, politics. World or National politics excites me beyond anything, how quickly history is made and changed
