Experience
I took honors and AP in high school where I had an amazing teacher and really loved it! In fact I began tutoring for the honors class during my senior year. As a pre-med student I had to take it in college. This was a disaster. Being in a huge lecture of about 200 with a professor that was not very engaging, I did not do well at all. I ended up deciding to finish up pre-med reqs in a post-bac program. I went to the Harvard extension school to do so and I took chem there again. Despite it being a 3 hour class and another huge lecture, I loved going to class every Thursday night. Dr. Tucci was absolutely amazing at breaking things down and keeping us interested. Long story short, between my professor and my awesome teaching fellow, Jess, I got alot out of the class and did really well. At Jess' prodding and with Dr. Tucci's permission I became a tutor for the class the next year. I ended up working with 8 tutees over the course of the year, with lots of success. Most notably I had one student go from a D to a B+. I like working with chem students because I've been on both sides of the fence; I've struggled with it and also found much success, so I get where you are coming from. Rowing! I love everything about it. I also enjoy dancing, reading, working out, going to concerts, watching movies, and catching up with friends.
