Experience

As a tutor, my goal is to help struggling students understand and conquer difficult material. I have tutored dozens of students, ranging from elementary school kids to college seniors. I have also helped with editing essays, putting together big projects, cramming for finals, and studying for standardized tests, such as the SAT and MCAT. In the past, I have helped students dump messy habits, become more organized, refine good study skills, and manage time better. My method of tutoring is to teach students to understand the material on their own, rather than just feed them answers. When I finish my session, I like to know that the student can complete the problem or task on their own, without any outside help. I am compassionate, understanding, and very patient. I am able to explain material in more than one way, until we come across something that works and makes sense to the student. As your tutor, I hope I can help you become more confident with whatever subject you are studying.
