Hobbies

I played the trombone and tuba in jazz and concert bands for five years throughout middle and high school, and was eventually promoted to be a section leader. I also played competitive men's tennis for four years, and served as the youth representative from my synod of the ELCA to the church-wide council. In College I moved on to participate in student government and Pacific Lutheran University's Ultimate Frisbee team. I am currently a member of the American Society of Civil engineers - Columbia Students Chapter, Columbia Lutherans, and the Roosevelt Institute at Columbia University. Aside from formal groups and curricular interests I also find ethics and philosophy very interesting, and enjoy outings to musical concerts of several different genres whenever I can. My passion is for architecture and beautiful feats of engineering, particularly in civil structures, highrise buildings, and skyscrapers. I often look back to those influential people who helped me discover and pursue my passion, people who astounded me and were my dream to live up to. It is my hope to similarly be this kind of inspiration to a future generation of thinkers and innovative leaders.
