Education

PhD, Harvard University, 2014 (Health Policy) MPH, Columbia University School of Public Health, 2007 BA, Magna Cum Laude, Harvard University, 2002 (History of Science/Neuroscience) High School: Ethical Culture Fieldston School, NYC Postdoctoral training at UNC-Chapel Hill and Tel Aviv University.

Experience

I have years of teaching experience from Harvard in undergraduate and graduate school levels in subjects ranging from social science to humanities, and more recent experience as an multi-subject matter academic coach for high school and middle school students with learning disabilities or other special needs. As a native Upper West Sider and graduate of the Ethical Culture Fieldston School, I have a lifelong first-hand experience with the pressures and privileges of New York City students, particularly private school students facing the daunting challenges of applying to college. During my own high school years at Fieldston and through my graduate school years at Harvard and Columbia, I benefited greatly from working with private tutors. These benefits included not only better understanding the subject matter or test taking strategy, but also skills in managing my own anxiety, time management, goal setting and communication with teachers. I believe these skills are as central to academic achievement as mastering of a given subject matter, and would incorporate them into my tutoring.
