I am a relatively recent college graduate, having gone back to school later in my 20s. I am 31 now, and I am pursuing a career as a teacher in New York City. While earning my undergraduate degree at UC Santa Cruz, I worked for two years in a community youth services program providing support and guidance to youth in foster care and others living at group homes in Santa Cruz County. Also while in Santa Cruz, I provided supervision at an after-school program for kindergarten through fifth graders one day each week. Most recently, I have been instructing seasonally for Outward Bound-an outdoor expeditionary learning school-in Maine and Florida. I have ample experience creating fun, meaningful ways for kids to learn and become more organized. I have a passion for history and for writing, and I am dedicated to being the best teacher I can be.
