Experience
I'm a strong advocate for creating individualized educational plans that are suited to best meet each student's needs. As a child, I struggled with getting ideas from my head to the page, overcame that challenge, and was named "most improved" by my high school's English department. Thanks to the development of those skills, I earned a 31 composite on the ACT, a perfect 12 on the ACT's writing section, and was named a National Merit Commended Student following my performance on the PSAT. After experiencing such dramatic improvements firsthand, I'm proud to tutor in English, reading, and writing techniques at all age levels, and to apply those skills toward the ACT, SAT, and AP exams. I remember how stressful and challenging school can be, and want to do my part to improve both your performance and your overall experience. I graduated cum laude from NYU with a major in character, focusing on characters in literature, theatre, and film, and how character relates to philosophy and psychology. When I'm not tutoring, I work in theatre and film (everything ranging from The Muppets and musical comedy to more serious stories grounded in history), and have been involved with productions on Broadway, at Carnegie Hall, and at additional venues throughout the country. I love to travel, and feel fortunate to have worked on projects that have taken me to Africa and England. I recently returned to New York (where I was born and raised), and am excited to "pay it forward" to the next generation, helping students reach their full potential.
