Experience
Over the past four years I have taught a wide range of learners from the kindergarten level through adult. During the this time I have facilitated targeted growth in writing, reading comprehension, fluency, and accuracy in English. At the core of my teaching is the principle that ALL students can learn. Over the course of my teaching practice and own education I have developed various strategies for overcoming potential barriers to academic success. These include anxiety, motivation, depression, dyslexia, ADD, ADHD, auditory processing disorders, and language processing disorders. I currently teach English as a Second Language and English Language Arts at a large middle school in Queens with an excellent reputation. It is my firm belief that all students can succeed given the right support and motivation. Every student brings with them a unique set of skills and knowledge; my teaching style capitalizes on student interests, incorporating their strengths, while developing other skills. In addition to the above qualifications I also have experience preparing individuals to take the Regents (ELA and Global Studies), NYESLAT, and TOEFL exams.
