I've tutored ESL for eight years, and increased TOEFL scores, created phrases and expressions for students to use in business meetings, been a conversation partner, explained how to write essays in English, and proofread students' essays and work documents. In particular I specialize in grammar and have studied Latin and Old English/Anglo-Saxon, so I can explain how the language evolved to this point. I've also received a CELTA (Certification in English Language Teaching to Adults). I also know much about American history, European history, Christianity, and the American governmental system. Several of my ESL students from non-western countries asked for assistance in these areas to better understand American culture.
