In tutoring I get a feel for how each student approaches problems (whether it be in math or science or even essay writing) and decide where to proceed from there. For SAT tutoring I feel like there is a much more efficient way of studying for the SAT than going to a prep class and just sitting there in their classes. There is a certain flow/ predictability of SAT questions and answers and I can help you understand. I also do college and medical school essay and application tutoring.
