I did a lot of volunteer teaching during the past 5 years in many different places with students from various backgrounds. These experiences had become my motivation to consider doing teaching as a profession and the reason why I chose to become a member of Teachers College, Columbia University to build up my teaching expertise. With my linguistic major background back in college at The Ohio State University, I chose to continue my study in the area of Applied Linguistic but with more focus on Teaching English as Second Language. I am currently a full-time student and teaching voluntarily at two ESL classes at New York City. I also have experience tutoring Mandarin Chinese to both children and adults. I would love to help people who love and enjoy learning English, Chinese, or languages in general just like I do.
